Dr. Brian Kirby is a physicist in the Tactical Network Assurance Branch (TNAB) within the Computation and Information Sciences Directorate (CISD) at the U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL), Adelphi, MD, USA. He joined ARL in 2015 as a postdoctoral fellow, became a staff scientist in 2016, and team lead for the TNAB quantum networking team in late 2019. Brian’s main research interests are quantum networking and optical quantum information processing. Before working at ARL, Brian was a graduate student at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where he studied long-range quantum cryptography as part of the DARPA QUINESS program.
